California Dreamin'

Not really, but I could use the weather they were having. It's so gross and rainy and cold today.

This week is Holy Week so I have a church gig, Thank God! I haven't been since the Christmas services so it will be nice to see everyone. Singing will be fun too.

The job search has been fun. Except for the fun part. Yesterday I took the exam for the Census Bureau jobs. It was at a library in one of the bad neighborhoods in Bklyn. There were only 3 of us and the other 2 girls were super nervous. I tried not to look at them so they wouldn't think I was being rude by not being nervous like them? I only got a 95 out of 100. Yep I said only. It's a simple exam that has vague questions and is timed. So for someone who is a genius, like myself, it's frustrating to get anything wrong. They also said that Veterans get an automatic 10pts added to their scores. So basically you should score 100 if you want to be in the running. I'll let you know if I get the gig!

Guess who's back?!

I've been away! I went to LA for my friend Melissa's wedding. I planned on blogging while I was out there but I was sooo outrageously jetlagged every night that it never worked. So here's a summary:

I got there on a Monday afternoon and went to the beach immediately. Apparently it was abnormally warm for the season so people were out sunbathing and doing other such delicious Summertime things. My friend Amber took me on a mini tour of all the little towns (well, maybe not so little towns) We went to Palos Verdes, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Hollywood and some other places. I saw LA Opera and the Disney Concert Hall (which looked like Lincoln Center) and we eventually went to Long Beach where Melissa and Andy live.

Some of the highlights were: going to Disney Land (for FREE), taking a hike on the cliffs of Palos Verdes and the wedding of course!! I basically had an amazing time but was ready to come home because, let's face it, I was born and raised in THEE Greatest City in the World so nothing compares. While SoCal is definitely permanent vacation land, I don't think I'd be able to live out there for longer than a week at a time!!

The scariest train station..

is High St. Brooklyn Bridge. First of all, you take a journey down the stairs, down this long ass escalator, to the center of the earth to get to the trains. I mean, I cannot be more below the ground right now. Then, the station itself is so damn long. If you get off at the wrong end you will be on the complete opposite side of the Brooklyn Bridge. Whatever happened to the wrong exit leaves you across the street? FML get me outta here!
