The scariest train station..
Thursday, February 25, 2010
I am the walrus.
It was all a dream. I used to read Word Up Magazine. Hah, just kidding. Somehow, I ended up at The Hearst Tower yesterday which houses O Magazine. I was searching through audition pages and ended up finding one for a makeover article. I figure I need one, why not?
They email me back (ha! I just saw my contact on the 6 train as I'm mobile blogging) and basically tell me I don't fit that group but maybe I want to do a bathing suit makeover.
Flash forward to yesterday, where I find myself in the most expansive, lavish, I dunno..amazing building on my way up to take pictures in my old bathing suit for O Magazine. There were hi-tech gateway entry things to tally the vistors, a cascading waterfall surrounding the escalators. On the mezzanine level, it looked like there was a built in Whole Foods but just the restaurant part. Large glass windows, it was soggy out and the natural light still seemed to illuminate the floor sufficiently. Multiple coffee tables with white daisies in cute glass vases, comfy chairs, everything seemed white and impeccable. I was dumbfounded by it all. I felt like I'd never been to a nice place before or something!
There was an elevator man who told you exactly which elevator to get on to take you to the exact floor you needed. I felt like I should've been wearing a gown instead of slacks. What a frigging amazing place! Anyway, I went upstairs to audition for the apparent modelling gig I unknowingly signed up for. I put on my old bathing suits and didn't look terrible. And then I put on some new bathing suits and looked fierce!! They said they'd contact as when they know who they want for the 'photo shoot' haha. What the hell? I do the most random things sometimes!
xoxo :))))

Panhandlers
There's this insane homeless man claiming to be the Incredible Hulk and going straight up to people and asking the rich looking ones for money. I don't look rich or anything but I'd rather be wearing sweatpants, a headscarf and sneakers at a time like this.

So the concert happened.
Went to get my hair done and was finished in record time. When i got home, I got ready and realized that I had no idea where my dress was. I wanted to wear this purple long sleeve one, in honor of Valentine's day you know. So I ended up wearing this lacey black dress which is probably the better of the two dresses.
I made it to the train and decided to put my make-up on while there. So I'm in the middle of putting on my liquid foundation and this guy asks me where he can get the A train. I told him to take the C down to Jay Street and just switch over. And he's like "Oh yeah because I need the J train anyway so that's good". If you're from Brooklyn, you might know that you do not catch the J train at Jay Street. This is not, like, Sesame Street, or something. Another girl is sitting next to me and she's like: Yeah, take this train to 14th Street and you can get on there. What?
Ugh, so, I dunno. It must be a 'nice native new yorker' thing [if that exists] but, I just couldn't get over the fact that this guy could not be going in a wronger direction. Maybe it was supposed to happen this way though. Maybe he needed to be hours late to where he was going to avoid some catastrophe. You know, destiny and all that. I finally made it to the concert and realized that I forgot to bring tights and lipstick. At that point, I was just like whatever no one cares about my legs or my makeup.
The concert happened, hooray for me and everyone!!! People from High School were there, shoutout to Raymond, Alissa and Bettie!! Oh and Howard, but I don't think I went to highschool with him. And everyone else I left out! Yay! Then we went to dinner, and I came home!

Warning: My love for Valentine's Day is discussed
The moral of the story is: you don't have to like the holiday, but don't rain on everyone else's parade who does!Thursday, February 11, 2010
How did I get sick again??
I've had a horribly sore throat and backed up sinuses. I'm feeling better today than I did yesterday, but still have some more recovery to work on before my concert on Sunday! EEE.
